Miriya Sterling

History

Miriya Sterling followed the same female body style as Lisa but with the pilot uniform and helmet. I was thankful that she kept her hair down in the animation so I didn’t have to fold the hair up into the helmet. 

Miriya was a strong female character in the show being the ace pilot of the Zentraedi originally before being micronized. The 3 3/4" action figure by Matchbox unfortunately had bigger hands, weird face, short hair, narrower hips, and taller than Max. The figure also was a straight copy of the Lisa Hayes space suit figure which did not have the pilot straps around her chest. It saved money for the toy company but didn't look like the character. Her hands should have been red rather than flesh tone. I wanted a figure that would look more accurate to the Robotech animation as Miriya is very beautiful and the Matchbox character was not.  

I never made her red Veritech Fighter but I hope to design a digital template so that I can make all the Veritech’s faster than before which was an entire month. Just swapping out the colors and printing is much easier than coloring each piece in colored pencil. Since Miriya was originally a giant Zentraedi, having a Breetai and Khyron the same size as the Battloid mode would make sense. Making a 3 foot tall figure in cardboard is not a big deal as it is still very light weight. Stay tuned.
